The Old Police Station Business Centre was Pennine Land's first refurbishment project.
The £1 million refurbishment of the former Heywood Police Station and Magistrates Court building provides 743 sq m of modern office space on flexible terms to accommodate new start-up and expanding businesses.
Within the building is an impressive 102 sq m courtroom that is available for business conferences, meetings and exhibitions. All of the original cell doors, complete with locks and viewing grill, are proudly on view next to the new reception area.
The conversion sensitively retains much of the character of the building, whilst providing all the modern facilities and office space today's businesses demand. The offices are located within easy reach of Heywood Town Centre and have become an enterprise hub for Heywood supporting the growth of the local economy.
North Manchester Enterprise Group is managing the workspace providing a full on-site management service. All the offices are fully serviced with broadband, communication, full switchboard, reception, telephone answering and secretarial facilities available.
Since completion of the scheme more than a dozen small businesses (including a business advice service and a nationwide charity) have taken space.
